Big 5 Construction Impact Award for Bansilalpet step well restoration
Hyderabad: The Bansilalpet step well and precinct restoration project received the Big 5 Construction Impact Award in Dubai on Monday, the day it was inaugurated by minister K.T. Rama Rao.
These awards by the United Arab Emirates ministry of energy and infrastructure recognise sustainable development and technological and digital achievements in the construction industry.
The joint venture of Kshetra Consultants and The Rain Water Project was awarded for sustainable revitalisation of traditional knowledge of rainwater harvesting at Bansilalpet.
Making the announcement on Twitter, Arvind Kumar, special chief secretary, municipal administration and urban development department, that the government planned to take up 10 more step wells for restoration in the next four months.
In a separate tweet, he shared a picture of what appears to be a beehive-shaped LED chandelier coming up at one of the popular places in the city and said that minister Rama Rao had had always encouraged the team to work on aesthetics, which are often missing or gets neglected in government works.
