Jagan to Inspect Damaged Fields and Interact With Farmers in Cyclone-hit Areas in AP
Vijayawada: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy would visit the cyclone-affected areas on Friday. He would go to Guduru and Bapatla areas, meet the victims and learn about the extent of crop damage in these areas.
The CM would leave Tadepalli at 8.30 am and reach the areas near the Swarnamukhi river embankment at Balireddy Palem, Tirupati district, Vakadu mandal and talk to the villagers and victims of the storm.
Later, the chief minister would reach Maruproluvaripalem, Bapatla district and undertake a similar exercise. From there, he would go to Buddhm and inspect the rice crops damaged by the cyclone and meet the farmers to learn about the crop damage and losses. He would return to Tadepalli in the evening.
The police imposed traffic restrictions in Bapatla from 12 noon on Friday till the end of the CM’s visit. SP Vakul Jindal said the vehicles coming to Bapatla from Repalle and Cherukupalli will be diverted to the Bapatla - Ponnur route via Yajali - Gudipudi. From Bapatla, vehicles will be diverted towards Repalle and Cherukupalli via Gudipudi-Yazali.
Vehicles are not allowed on the highway from Hero Motorcycle showroom junction in Bapatla to the junction near Bapatla engineering college. Vehicles coming to Suryalanka from Chirala side should enter Bapatla town from the junction near Bapatla engineering college and go to Suryalanka via the Clock Tower centre.
Vehicles coming from Suryalanka side are not allowed on the highway and they have to go towards Chirala (or) Guntur from the Clock Tower center in Bapatla town. Some 1,150 cops have been deployed for the CM’s visit.
