TS govt employees, teachers take part in \'pension maha kumbh mela\' in MP against CPS
HYDERABAD: State government employees and teachers took part in the Pension maha kumbh mela held at Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh on Sunday demanding abolition of the CPS (contributory pension scheme) and restoration of the OPS (old pension scheme).
The rally was held under the aegis of the National Movement for Old Pension Scheme (NMOPS), an umbrella organisation of CPS employees unions of all States agitating against CPS.
The employees and their family members who participated in the rally took a oath that they would vote for only those parties that promise to restore the OPS.
NMOPS secretary-general G. Sthitaprajna said that the movement had decided to hold rallies in all the states as part of "Vote for OPS" campaign. He said 5 lakh employees and their family members in Madhya Pradesh, constituting a vote bank of 30 lakh voters, took an oath on Sunday that they will vote for parties which support OPS.
