Tummala ridicules reports of fertilizers shortage
Hyderabad: Agriculture minister Tummala Nageswara Rao on Monday denied reports of shortage of fertilizers in the state.
At a review meeting, he said that the department of agriculture has prepared an action plan for supply of 19.24 LMTs of various fertilizer grades for yasangi.
A release from the department said that they were planning in advance to ensure that all the required fertilizers reach farmers at the mandal and village level in time. They will be coordinating with the nodal agency, TS MARKFED and fertilizer companies, by way of monthly meetings.
The availability of various grades of fertilizer in Yasangi 2022 was 7.01 LMTs whereas nine LMTs of various fertilizers were available during yasangi 2023, 28 per cent more compared to the previous season. As regards urea, as against the 3.57 LMTs available in 2022, this season’s stock has seen a 31 per cent increase at 4.68 LMTs.
