Nature Cure hospital gets Rs 10 crore worth equipment
Hyderabad: Stating that the state government is giving top priority for people's health and providing funds to government hospitals, Legislative Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy on Saturday said that at least 80 per cent of people suffering from different health issues prefer to visit government hospitals as they were assured of quality treatment at no costs.
Reddy, along with ministers T. Harish Rao and T. Srinivas Yadav inaugurated the latest technology and other facilities at Nature Cure hospital in Balkampet. The government spent Rs 10 crore on infrastructure facilities in the hospital, he said.
The speaker said that the hospital was established in 1949 but successive governments had neglected it. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has taken an initiative to revamp old hospitals with suitable financial support towards upgrading them.
"The rate of deliveries in government hospitals has gone up to 62 per cent after they were provided with ultra-modern equipment on par with the corporate hospitals," he said.
Harish Rao said that they have developed the Nature cure hospital by equipping it with the latest technology. "Around 8,000 Covid patients underwent treatment here. The staff has conducted 30,000 RT PCR tests. Every year, 3000 inpatients and 10,000 outpatients get medical assistance from the hospital free of cost," Rao said.
