HYDERABAD: Dr Bheerappa Nagari, who is currently the head of department of surgical gastroenterology, was appointed as Nims director on Wednesday.
The appointment was approved by health secretary S.A.M Rizvi and the term will be for three years from the date of appointment.
Dr Nagari served in important positions in Nims earlier as associate dean for the allied sciences from 2018 to 2020 and was also examiner for the National Board for DNB (Diplomate of National Board) and M.Ch., surgical gastroenterology in various universities from 2013 to date.
An MBBS graduate of 1985 batch from Gulbarga University , Dr Nagari has also received many accolades in the past such as Limca Book of Records 2019 for successfully removing a largest cystic tumour from the liver, Vaidya Ratna Award 2019, Telangana Healthcare Award, Best Doctor of Telangana state in 2017 among others.
