Twin brothers trouble at IIT Kanpur, adds confusion on campus
Lucknow: Aman Tiwari and Ankush Tiwari are among the new students who have joined IIT Kanpur after clearing the JEE advanced examination.
The brothers have enrolled for the bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering at IIT-K. Even before classes have begun, the brothers have added to the confusion on the campus and the reason for this is that they are identical twins.
“They are so identical that it is impossible to identify them. The staff members were utterly confused during the admission process and we do not know how we will cope with the situation when classes begin and the brothers get the hostel facility,” said a senior faculty member.
The brothers belong to Gorakhpur and got almost similar percentages in the class 12 board examinations. Aman had secured 92.8 per cent, while Ankush had got 92.4 per cent.
Their father, Ajay Kumar Tiwari is a Chief Food Safety Officer, posted in Maharajganj district. He was extremely proud on finding that as both his sons had not only cleared the coveted JEE advanced but had also been allotted the same institution.
“Both the brothers have excelled in their studies from the very beginning and I am surprised to see that both of them have cleared JEE Advanced and had been allotted Electrical engineering department of B.Tech at IIT Kanpur. It is a proud moment for us and I pray that they may excel in life also,” the father told reporters.
