Congress suggests a resignation
Bengaluru: In a bid to save the coalition government, Congress leaders have suggested a cabinet reshuffle to pacify the rebel MLAs who tendered their resignations on Saturday.
As per this plan, the party may ask at least 10 or 12 ministers to resign to accommodate the rebels in the cabinet. Deputy CM Dr G. Parameshwar has convened a breakfast meeting with the ministers on Monday to moot he idea.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, a leader said the names of the ministers who will resign has not been confirmed yet but it is speculated that those like ministers Puttaranga Shetty, R.B. Thimmapur, Jayamala, U.T. Khader, Krishna Byregowda and a few others might be asked to make way for the rebels. Besides this, Deputy CM Dr Parameshwar's portfolios might be reshuffled to placate Bengaluru strongman, R. Rama-linga Reddy.
