Telangana HC advocates object Budvel land auction

HYDERABAD: Advocates from the Telangana High Court objected to the Telangana government’s proposal for the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Agency (HMD) to auction land in Budwel on August 10, saying some portion of it was meant for the construction of the new High Court building.

Advocates recalled that about 15 years ago, the state government had said that the new High Court building would come up on about 100 acres of land in Survey No.s 282 to 299, situated in Budwel village of Rajendranagar mandal.

Since then, the High Court Registry had written to the government to hand over of a portion of land.

Pointing out to this, the advocates met Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and sought intervention in the matter and requested that the land meant for the High Court building be protected.

The Chief Justice inquired about the issue with Advocate-General B.S. Prasad. Sources said that Chief Justice wanted to know the stand of the government in allocating land to construct a building for the High Court in the future.

The advocates association is also making arrangements to file a petition before the High Court, to stop the auction of the land at Budwel.
