Clash Between SFI and ABVP Activists in Sangareddy Erupts, Ahead of Plenary Meeting
HYDERABAD: Tension prevailed in Sangareddy early on Friday when activists of the Telangana Students Federation of India (SFI) clashed with those of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). SFI district secretary Ramesh suffered an injury on his forehead and was taken to the district hospital.
The clash occurred when the SFI activists were making arrangements for the two-day plenary meeting that began later on Friday.
"It appeared as if the ABVP couldn't stomach the kind of political attention we have been garnering in the past few months and they were being looked down on in Sangareddy.
This led to a war of words and deliberate provocation," an SFI member said.
SFI state president R.L. Murthy and secretary T. Nagaraju said the meetings will entail discussions about future strategies and solutions to various problems plaguing the education sector.
