Nobel laureate lauds AP for rewarding' educational reforms
VIJAYAWADA: Nobel laureate Professor Michael Kremer lauded the ‘highly successful and rewarding’ educational reforms in the state.
Prof. Kremer, along with Emily Cupito from DIL University, Chicago, visited Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan's central office on Thursday. During their visit, S. Suresh Kumar, commissioner of School Education and B. Srinivasa Rao, director, Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan Scheme, provided insights into the educational schemes and programmes implemented by the Andhra Pradesh government.
The team will next visit government schools where the personalized and adaptive learning (PAL) project is being executed. The professors will get to learn first-hand about implementation of various educational initiatives and understand how the state government has been progressing as regards providing quality education.
The team, along with a delegation from Chicago, is on a three-day visit to various schools in Eluru district to research AP's revolutionary education system.
Suresh Kumar expressed delight at the team's interest in studying Andhra Pradesh's education system. Srinivasa Rao emphasised the significance of the PAL initiative in enhancing student learning outcomes in Andhra Pradesh.
Top officials, including Dr. K.V. Srinivasulu Reddy and B. Vijay Bhaskar, participated in the programme.
