Revanth blames state govt for home guard's murder
Hyderabad: TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy on Friday alleged that the death of home guard M Ravinder was not a case of suicide but of murder committed by the state government. He demanded that criminal cases be filed against the Chief Minister.
Revanth Reddy said that the government had not paid Home Guards for five months due to the state's financial crisis. “Chandrasekhar Rao's corruption is the reason for the state's bankruptcy. Bills are being given to contractors who give commissions to BRS leaders,” the TPCC chief alleged.
He demanded that the government bear the cost of education of Ravinder's two children, a job for one of the family members and a compensation of '25 lakh.
Revanth Reddy met Ravinder’s family and announced financial assistance of '2 lakh from the Congress.
He criticised the government for not announcing support for Ravinder's family. He spoke to police commissioner C.V. Anand and asked him to help the family.
The TPCC cheif alleged that the government was stopping Ravinder’s colleagues from showing solidarity with the bereaved family. He demanded that the arrested Home Guard JAC leaders should be released. He demanded that action should be taken against those responsible for Ravinder's death.
Revanth Reddy assured that if the Congress comes to power, it would take steps to help the home guards.
