CBI Cases: Telangana HC issues NBAs to Jagan and others
The Telangana High Court issued notices to AP Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy to respond to a Public Interest Litigation filed by the AP Former Minister Chegondi Harirama Jogaiah, in which he sought directions to the CBI Court at Hyderabad as to conduct trial regularly in the pending CBI cases against AP CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy and to decide the matters within a time limit i.e before the commencement of AP Assembly elections in 2024.
Though the PIL was filed by Jogaiah several months back, the Registry of the Telangana High Court did not allocate the number to the PIL so far. On an earlier occasion, the High Court expressed doubts about the intention of Jogaiah in filing the matter as PIL.
However, the same PIL was placed before the Chief Justice Bench and after examining all the documents and explanations in filing the issue as PIL, the High Court on Wednesday directed the Registry of the High Court to give the number to PIL and to place for hearing.
Meanwhile, the court issued Notices Before Admission to the necessary parties like YS Jaganmohan Reddy and others.
