Two ward volunteers sacked in Nellore for misguiding people on welfare schemes

NELLORE: Nellore Municipal Corporation on Monday dismissed two volunteers working in 7th Division because of their posts on social media against welfare schemes of the state government.

Civic body’s additional commissioner Prasada Rao accused the duo, identified as Nagarjuna and Naveen, of floating a WhatsApp group for volunteers and misguiding them by posting messages against the government’s schemes.

Prasada Rao said they have started closely monitoring activities of ward volunteers owing to complaints of indiscipline among them.
