Stalin calls on Danya at home
Chennai: Chief Minister M K Stalin called on the 9-year-old girl, Danya, who underwent a series of facial reconstruction surgeries to overcome a hemifacial atrophic condition called Parry-Rosenberg syndrome, at her home in Avadi on Wednesday and assured the government’s assistance for medical treatment.
Danya’s parents, Stephan Raj and Sowbagayam, had approached the Chief Minister earlier for help to provide medical care for the degenerative condition as they had exhausted all their resources in treatment.
After ensuring that the girl received necessary treatment at the Saveetha Medical College Hospital, Stalin called on Danya on August 29, 2022. Subsequently she underwent another reconstructive surgery and was discharged from hospital.
So, Stalin, accompanied by his ministerial colleagues, Ponmudi and Naazar, visited Danya at her home in Srivari Nagar in Avadi and assured the family of support in taking care of the girl.
