BENGALURU: A fire broke out at a mattress store on Sarjapur road in Bengaluru on Thursday and destroyed mattresses, cots, chairs and tables stored in it. The fire was noticed here, around 8 am on Thursday.
The Fire and Emergency Services personnel took about two-and-half hours to douse the fire. About 15 personnel were engaged in firefighting led by Fire Officer Sampathraj.
“Nobody was present in the shop when the fire broke out,” stated Fire officials and added that since the Fire Station on Sarjapur road was close by, they were able to reach the spot within a few minutes.
Video footage of the mishap showed a thick flame which engulfed the vicinity and the fire was doused before it could spread to surrounding areas.
The cause for the fire in the shop which belonged to one Jabiullah, is yet to be ascertained Loss of properties owing to the fire incident is also not known at the moment.
