Government Moyan Girls School risked life of student
PALAKKAD: The parents and relatives of Anusree. R., a ninth standard girl of Government Moyan Girls School here who suffered head injury after a square iron pipe fell on her from the first floor of school building on Wednesday have come out against the school authorities and the contractor who is engaged in renovating the building.
They have alleged gross negligence thereby putting the life of the students of the school at risk. The classes where conducted in the building where the renovation work was incomplete. She was rushed to the hospital by the teachers and she has two stitches on her head.
"She is still having the pain and is yet to come out of the shock. CT scan was conducted on her on Friday and doctors have told her parents that the injury is not serious. A part of the 6 ft long iron pipe that fell on her had hit the ground before hitting her head," Manikandan M., Anusree's uncle and a member of school development committee said. School authorities, however, played down the incident and said that it was a minor injury and the controversy was uncalled for.
