Election Commission holds meeting with RWAs

HYDERABAD: With an aim to increase the voter registration percentage in the IT corridor, Chief Election Officer Vikas Raj, Cyberabad police commissioner M. Stephen Raveendra, GHMC commissioner Ronald Rose and Ranga Reddy district collector Harish conducted an interactive meeting with the office bearers of gated communities and residential welfare associations, election officers and returning officers at the Cyberabad police commissionerate.

Vikas Raj explained the various steps taken by the CEO’s office to enroll voters and educate them about how to enumerate as a voter online and offline, how electoral registration officers (EROs) can help them in enrolling as a voter, considering that IT corridor has a very high migrant population coming from different parts of India.

During the interaction, Election Commission officials Lokesh Kumar and Sarfraj Ahmed took feedback from the gated communities and RWAs representatives on the issues they faced while enlisting and how 100 per cent voter enrolment could be achieved.

Vikas Raj assured that the issues raised by the participants would be addressed. He requested the RWAs and gated communities representatives not to collect the enrolment forms by themselves and said that the officials were there to do this job. He urged them to bring any issues to the notice of toll-free number 1950 and the issues will be addressed promptly.
