Park named after SP Balasubhramanyam in Nellore

MLA Anilkumar Yadav said the park developed at an estimated cost of Rs 90 lakh is a tribute to Balu while referring to his roots to the city

Nellore: A renovated park in Nellore was named after ace playback singer late S.P. Balasubrahmanyam. A bust size statue of SPB was also installed in the park located at Aditya Nagar in the city.

The park was inaugurated by former minister and Nellore city legislator Dr P. Anilkumar Yadav.

Speaking on the occasion, Anilkumar Yadav said the park developed at an estimated cost of Rs 90 lakh is a tribute to Balasubhramanyam while referring to his roots to Nellore city.

“We decided to put the name of this renowned popular singer in the country to the park to keep his memories alive in the minds of the people of the district,” Anilkumar said.

He also unveiled the statue of Balasubharamanyam later.

Anilkumar said the SPB park contains two badminton courts and a room is earmarked for Gym and Yoga and a walking track is being developed at an estimated cost of Rs 25 lakh.

Claiming that he is developing 19 parks in the city at an estimated cost of Rs 15 crore, he dared his critics in the TD to come out with the details of development works they have grounded during their regime in Nellore.

Anilkumar said he is ready for a debate on the issue.

Nuda vice-chairman Obulesu Nandan and corporator Venati Srikanth Reddy were present with the legislator apart from YSRC leaders.
