Adilabad: Villagers of Mallak Chincholi on Sunday staged a protest against the state government for merging their village into the newly created Beeravelli mandal in Nirmal district. The village earlier came under Sarangapur mandal of the district.
Villagers of Mallak Chincholi, ward members and sarpanch gathered at the Sarangapur mandal headquarters on Sunday, raising slogans “Beeravelli Vaddu, Sarangapur Muddu”. They demanded that their village must remain a part of the Sarangapur mandal.
Mallak Chincholi villagers pointed out that they have to travel only 2km to reach the Sarangapur mandal headquarters. Now, with merger of their village into Beeravelli mandal, they will have to travel 12 km to reach Beeravelli mandal headquarters.
The villagers alleged that officials merged Mallak Chincholi into the newly created Beeravelli mandal without giving any prior intimation to them.
