AP Cadre IAS Officer is Additional Secretary at Power Ministry
Vijayawada: In a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, Dr. Srikant Nagulapalli, a 1998 batch IAS officer of Andhra Pradesh cadre, has been appointed as additional secretary of the union ministry of power and renewable energy.
Srikant, known for his expertise in power sector reforms, previously served as energy secretary and as chairman and managing director of AP-Transco.
AP chief secretary KS. Jawahar Reddy, special CS (Energy) K. Vijayanand, Genco MD K.V.N. Chakradhar Babu, and CMDs of discoms Prudhwi Tej, P. Janardhan Reddy and Santosh Rao congratulated Dr. Srikanth.
Officials recalled that Srikant Nagulapalli, as secretary of energy department in Andhra Pradesh, played a pivotal role in implementing cost-effective measures that led to substantial economic savings of ₹4,783 crore for Andhra Pradesh.
Additionally, the state’s energy department reported savings of around ₹2,350 crore through spot market electricity purchases in the same period.
