KCR meets Jeeyar for final touches to Ramanuja fete

The Chief Minister visited Yaga Sala at Divya Saketham where the organisers would perform Sahashra Kundathmaka Lakshminarayana Yagam

HYDERABAD: Sri Ramanuja Sahasrabdi celebrations will be held from February 2 to February 14 at Divya Saketham located at Muchintal of Shamshabad on the outskirts of the city. As part of the celebrations, the 16.5-metre statue of Sri Ramanuja (Statue of Equality) will be unveiled at the Divya Saketham.

Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao paid a visit to Divya Saketham on Sunday and took blessings Hindu seer Chinna Jeeyar Swamy at his ashram. During his visit, the Chief Minister interacted with Chinna Jeeyar Swamy on the ongoing work progress of Sri Ramanuja statue construction works and several yagams to be performed during the celebrations of Sri Ramanuja Sahasrabdi at the Divya Saketham.

The Chief Minister visited Yaga Sala at Divya Saketham where the organisers would perform Sahashra Kundathmaka Lakshminarayana Yagam. At least two lakh kilograms of cow ghee was arranged to be used for homams during the statue unveil programme.

The Chief Minister spoke to the chairman of the Board of Directors of the Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited G. Raghuma Reddy over phone and directed him to provide round-the-clock power supply without any interruption. Chandrashekar Rao also directed Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar to extend the government's support to Dviya Saketham in providing facilities during the Yagam.

The Chief Minister also discussed with the Chinna Jeeyar Swamy re-opening of Yadadri Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple, the dream project of the Chief Minister. The temple will be reopened on March 28. Before reopening the temple, Sudarshana Maha Yagam and other rituals will be held on March 21 at the temple.

For the reopening ceremony, as many as 5,000 Ruthvika from across the country and 3,000 priests from TTD and Bhadradri temple and others would perform poojas and homams.
