Hyderabad: Justice P. Madhavi Devi of the Telangana High Court stayed the criminal proceedings against actor Lakshmi Manchu before the trial court in relation to a 2018 case at Jubilee Hills police station. The case was registered against her on the complaint of TV-5 news channel presenter Sambashiva Rao, who complained that Lakshmi had threatened him of dire consequences.
Lakshmi maintained that the comments were made in the backdrop of the news presenter making derogatory comments that the film industry was full of brokers and prostitutes, which, she said, were provocative statements against the film industry.
