Strays attack six-year-old girl
HYDERABAD: A six-year-old girl suffered a severe head injury after stray dogs bit her when she was playing at her residence in Narsapur in the Medak district. She was shifted to the fever hospital in Nallakunta here.
Narsapur sub-inspector Shiva Kumar said that the incident occurred at Kazistreet in Narsapur Sunday morning when the girl Naila, who was playing at her residence, was attacked by two stray dogs.
Hearing her wails, the family members rushed out and rescued her from stray dogs. After suffering a serious head injury, she was shifted to a hospital in Narsapur where doctors referred her to the fever hospital, where she was brought by her father Mukassir. Police said that no complaint was received and no case was registered in connection with the incident.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, fever hospital superintendent K Shankar said, “The girl was taken to the institute of preventive medicine where she was given a vaccination and then referred to us. The girl sustained a five-inch injury on the head. We infiltrated the patient with dog bite immunoglobulins and partially sutured the wound. She was kept under observation for two hours and then discharged as the patient was stable.”
