Job aspirants allege unfair deal by PSC

2016, 2018 batch docs not considered for Asst. Prof. post.

Hyderabad: The TSPSC recently released results of candidate who qualified for the interview for assistant professor non-clinical posts. Many aspirants allege that the promises including issues of those who passed out in 2016 and 2017, inclusion of vacancies in government medical colleges in Mahbubnagar, Siddipet, Nalgonda and Suryapet were not fulfilled.

A TSPSC aspirant said, “The notification was released in 2017 with the then vacant positions. In the notification it was stated that for non-clinical assistant professor’s posts, a senior residency (rural service), is compulsory. However according to MCI guidelines, senior residency is not required for non-clinical assistant professor’s posts. We have given a representation on the issue to Dr Charlakola Laxma Reddy, former health minister of Telangana state, who assured that he will consider our demand of including the 2016 and 2017 passed out batches also.”

Meanwhile the process of recruitment continued in February 2018 when they called for a verification process. Reportedly, a committee was constituted to look into the verification process like the number of publications, registration and others. “Many of them did not have guidelines to do the verification process,” alleges the TSPSC aspirant.

On Wednesday, the TSPSC issued a notification for interview of selected candidates. The aspirant alleges that the TSPSC called candidates for interview in the ratio of 1:1 which is against the prescribed ratio of 1:2. How are they going to eliminate the an aspirant who was called for the interview, questioned another TSPSC aspirant.

It is almost two years from the date of notification to the interview. Dr P. Vijayender Goud, president of TJUDA said, “Assistant professors working in government medical colleges are promoted to associate professors and got transferred and many government medical colleges in Mahbubnagar, Siddipet, Nalgonda and Suryapet have come up in the last two years. The released notification in 2017 only considered deficiency of posts in some government medical colleges like the Osmania, Kakatiya and Nizamabad, these being the only colleges present at that time. Will the selected candidates will be posted in new colleges? What will happen to vacant posts in the old colleges where there was a deficiency due to promotion of faculty?"

Many TSPSC aspirants said due to junior doctors’ strike in 2016, they could not complete the senior residency in time and received the certificate late. Though Dr Laxma Reddy had asked them to apply by conditional registration, assurance did not become reality.
