Bodhan MLA vehicle convoy claim life of minor boy

HYDERABAD: A minor died in a road accident involving a convoy of cars of BRS MLA Shakil Amer’s wife, near Kochara Maisamma temple on Bodhan-Narsi interstate road on Sunday. BJP leaders demanded stringent action against those responsible for the death of the boy.

Sources said MLA Amer’s wife Ayesha Fatima was on her way to Bodhan from Salura in a three-vehicle convoy. When the convoy reached a function hall on the outskirts of Bodhan, a vehicle hit 11-year-old Deepak Teja who was going towards an ice-cream cart. He sustained serious head injuries and was shifted to a private hospital in Nizamabad and later to Hyderabad where he was declared brought dead.

Rudra Satyanarayana, Reddika organisation leader, said MLA Amer had assured help to the victim’s family. Reportedly, the BRS MLA aides assured '6 lakh financial aid, a 2BHK house and outsourcing job to Teja’s father Vaddaiah.
Bodhan assistant commissioner of police K.M. Kiran Kumar said police had booked the MLA’s driver Basaveshwar. He said Fatima’s car had passed the spot and the minor was hit by the last vehicle of the convoy.

BJP Bodhan Assembly constituency in-charge Medapati Prakash Reddy, party leader V. Mohan Reddy and other leaders visited the victim’s family and offered to help if they intended to fight the case.

Bodhan MLA Amer’s vehicle was earlier involved in a road accident in Hyderabad in which an infant had died in May 2022. The vehicle was traced due to its ‘MLA’ sticker.
