Hot day and rainy evening in the city
Hyderabad: After a simmering day, rains lashed several parts of the city in the late evening, bringing a temporary relief from the heat.
Tellapur, Kondapur, Miyapur, Nizampet, Lingampally, Madinaguda, Gachibowli, Patacheru, Bachupally, Afzalgunj, Rajendranagar, Nampally, Charminar, Saidabad, Mehdipatnam, Bahadurpura, Afzalgunj, Neredmet, Shaikpet, Toli Chowki, Hitec City, Erragadda, Sanathnagar, Kukatpally, Ameerpet, Bandlaguda, Falaknuma, Attapur, Chandanagar, parts of Secunderabad received showers for around half-an-hour.
As per the TS Development and Planning Society, Vikarabad received the highest rainfall of 44 mm, followed by Jayashankar Bhupalpalli district at 30 mm and Sangareddy at 37.3 mm. In the city, RC Puram was the wettest with 24.8 mm rain and Gachibowli 15.8 mm.
The IMD said more rain was in store for two days due to a weather system stretching from Telangana to south Tamil Nadu. After the rain, the maximum temperature was likely to rise by 2º to 3º Celsius and the mercury could hit 45ºC in some areas.
