KTR inaugurates modern crematorium in Begumpet

Hyderabad: MA&UD minister K.T. Rama Rao on Tuesday inaugurated a modern vaikunta dhamam at Shamlal building in Dhanialagutta of Begumpet and credited Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao for “spearheading progress” and turning Telangana into a “model state.”

He said, “We have shaped up many crematoriums and graveyards with modern facilities. Outside, we are fighting in the name of religion and caste. At least when someone comes for their last rites, they can get a better atmosphere.”

Inaugurating the facility, he said that “civic issues exist even in the USA” and said that civic issues will continuously arise as long as people continue to inhabit the city. He, however, assured that the government was working tirelessly to develop the city.

The minister was referring to comments made by actors Rajinikanth and Laya, comparing Hyderabad favourably with New York.

He said, “The government is working hard to develop the city. A well-developed city must have flyovers and a better transport system, along with a freshwater supply. The city will be having better sewage system as the SNDP works are nearing completion.”

He said that the crematorium, modernised at a cost of Rs 8.53 crore, will benefit people of 20 localities in the vicinity. “The Mahaparinirvana is having all the facilities for the families of the deceased,” he said.

After the event, he also called on the public to support good leaders and appealed to them to vote their party to power for the third time to ensure the city and state’s continued development.

Rama Rao was accompanied by minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav on the occasion.
