HYDERABAD: In an attempt to gear up for the upcoming monsoon and to deal with flooding situations, TS fire department started training its personnel in aquatic search and rescue programs in basic flood rescue.
As a part of the plan, training was conducted for the fire personnel. Thirteen inflatable boats, with four District Fire officers, eleven Assistant District Fire officers, 168 personnel were trained.
These trained teams will be deployed at strategic locations of low lying areas to rescue people in case of flooding.
“Apart from attending fire calls, these teams will also respond to rescue calls and any other emergency during the monsoon season,” officials from the fire department said.
