Nagam questions KCR on delay in Palamuru project
Hyderabad: Congress leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy asked why Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao was inaugurating the Palamuru Rangareddy lift irrigation scheme (PRLIS) when it was less than 40 per cent complete. He also questioned the CM’s statement that district leaders had stalled work on the project.
Addressing the media at Gandhi Bhavan, he said, “I am ready to quit politics if the charge against me (of blocking the work) is proved. Will KCR do the same if he is proved wrong? Leaders who had filed cases in the National Green Tribunal (against the project) are with KCR now.”
Reddy alleged that the CM had promised to complete the project in 30 months but it was yet to be completed after 90 months. “Only one of the 31 pumps in the project is going for a trial run now,”Reddy claimed.
The CM also failed to keep his promise of providing proper compensation to the project oustees. AICC secretary Chinna Reddy asked why a wet trial run was being done in just 13 days instead of a month after the dry run.
