HC directive to Health varsity on admissions
Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court on Thursday directed the Kaloji Naranayan Rao Health and Medical University not to finalise PG medical seats under the NEET-PG convenor quota admissions till Monday. A vacation bench comprising Justice K. Lakshman and Justice Chillakur Sumalatha sought counters from the state and the university on the grievance raised by four doctors working in government hospitals in rural and tribal areas. The doctors approached the High Court complaining about discrepancy in service quota eligibility in the PG medical seats for in-service candidates. They requested the court to declare the action of the University and others notifying them as ‘not eligible as service candidate’ and preventing them from exercising web options for admission in the convenor quota as illegal.
Sama Sandeep Reddy, counsel for the petitioners, told court that there was a special provision to provide reservation for in-service doctors in the PG medical admissions in government and private medical colleges as per GO 155 of 2021. Despite this, the petitioner doctors were being denied their admissions. Rain continue to lash city for second day
