Five new names included by CID in Amaravati Inner Ring Road Alignment scam

Vijayawada: In an important development in the Amaravati Inner Ring Road scam, the Crime Investigation Department (CID) has added five more new accused to the case. The CID filed a memo in the ACB court to this effect on Monday.

These were the names of former minister and TD leader Ponguru Narayana’s wife Ramadevi, Pramila (wife of Dhananjay Narayana college employee), Avula Mani Shankar (Narayana’s relative) Rapuri Sambasiva Rao (Ramadevi relative) and Varun Kumar.

The CID had already registered an FIR under Cr No 16/2021 Section 120 (b), 409, 420, 166, 167, 34, 35, 37, and 13(2), 13(1) of PC Act.

In the same scam, Chandrababu Naidu was Accused-1, former minister P. Narayana A-2 and Nara Lokesh A-14. Narayana’s wife has been included as A-15, R. Sambasiva Rao as A-16, A. Manishankar as A-17, Pramila as A-18 and Varun Kumar as A-19.

The CID has issued notices to Lokesh and Narayana to appear before it. A-1 Chandrababu’s petition for anticipatory bail in this case was rejected by the AP High Court on Monday.
