Plea seeks shutting Sanathnagar shed
Hyderabad: A two-judge bench of the Telangana High Court comprising Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice N.V. Shravan Kumar on Monday took on file a writ plea seeking the shutting down of the railways' Sanathnagar Goods Shed.
Uday Kumar and two residents of the area, in a PIL, sought shifting of the operations to Moula Ali, Cherlapalli, Nagapalli and Shankarpalli because the operations posed a threat to the locals.
Deputy Solicitor General, Gadi Praveen Kumar wanted the PIL to be dismissed as it did not include the Container Corporation of India, Food Corporation of India, Central Rail Housing Cooperation of India, Steel Authority of India and workers. He said shifting the shed would affect 1,500 workers and 500 lorry drivers.
