Six KMC staff suspended over irregularities
KHAMMAM: Six employees at the town planning, engineering and revenue wings of the Khammam Municipal Corporation have been suspended over the massive irregularities in its functioning. One of them was also served the charge-sheet order.
The suspension orders were issued by commissioner Adarsh Surabhi. Notably, Deccan Chronicle had carried several reports about massive irregularities in KMC in recent times.
The employees are P. Lokesh, junior assistant cum incharge revenue inspector; Irugu Nageswara Rao, pump driver; LB Venkataramani, town planning supervisor; Syam Manohar of the engineering department and Jaleel Mahammad and Saheel, bill collectors. No senior-level official has been touched.
Numerous charges were cited against P Lokesh. He had given multiple property tax numbers on one site in Kaikondaigudem, Ramanagutta and BC Colony. DC reported this, citing the false PTIN numbers. Lokesh was suspended and served with a charge-sheet and a memo.
The bill collectors showed negligence in collecting property taxes and/or did not perform the duties as per the job chart. The suspended employees in engineering and town-planning have resorted to various regularities in their work, it is noted.
