Visakhapatnam: Three youngsters riding a bike died on Thursday evening when their bike hit a divider at Sector-II of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) locality in Vizag city.
The deceased have been identified as A. Somesh (19), K. Vasu (20) and K.Raju (23), all residents of Gangavaram locality in Visakhapatnam.
Visakhapatnam Steel Plant inspector V. Srinivasa Rao said Somesh had been driving the bike at a high speed when he lost control and hit the divider. The bike went on to hit an electrical pole, leading to the death of all three riding the bike. While Somesh and Vasu died on the spot, Raju succumbed to injuries at the King George Hospital, where he had been admitted for treatment.
The impact was so great that Somesh, despite wearing a helmet, suffered a serious head injury and died on the spot.
Bodies of the three will be handed over to their kin after post-mortem.
