Cyclone Michaung: Special camps to issue lost certificates in Tamil Nadu
Chennai: Chief Minister M K Stalin announced that special camps would be opened for issuing fresh certificates to replace the important documents that people might have lost in the floods caused by Cyclone Michaung in the four districts of Chennai, Thiruallur, Chengalpattu and Kanchipuram.
At the special camps to be held from December 11 in the districts of Thiruvallur, Chengalpattu and Kanchipuram at the revenue divisional and sub-divisional levels and from December 12 at the various Corporation divisional offices in Chennai, no charges would be levied on people applying for fresh certificates, an official press release said on Saturday.
Apart from government orders, the documents that could be replaced through the special camps include family card, voter id, Aadhar card, birth certificate, community certificate, residence certificate, inheritance certificate and school and college certificates.
The exact locations and timing of the special camps, in which E-Seva services would also be made available, would be announced later, the release said.
