Judicial Applause: Andhra Pradesh Expedites Pension Cases, Meets Deadline

Vijayawada: Members of the Judicial Officers Association visited the principal accountant general's office to hail the efficient processing of 109 pension cases in just 30 days. This feat followed a recent Supreme Court directive to double retirement gratuity from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 20 lakh.

The judges met with principal accountant general Chandramauli Singh, who assured them of his office's commitment to resolving all pension cases within 30 working days. He highlighted the importance of their dedicated grievance cell, specifically formed to handle such issues quickly and effectively.

Following the Supreme Court's directive, Singh's office set a clear deadline and streamlined the workflow. This swift action not only benefits retired judges but also sets a strong example for other states grappling with pension backlogs.
The visit wasn't just about praise, though.

The Judicial Officers Association president, M. Lakshmi Narayana, and deputy accountant general Rakesh Naik also held discussions with Singh to identify opportunities for further improvement.
