Leopard movement creates panic in Metpally
Karimnagar: The movements of a leopard created panic among the residents of the villages surrounding Metpally Mandal in Rajanna Sircilla district on Wednesday.
Shepherds of Sathakkapalli had spotted a leopard on the outskirts of their village near Usikey Gutta and informed the village elders, who in turn, alerted forest officials.
Receiving the information, the foresters, along with the animal tracker team visited the village and spotted the pug marks of the wild animal and cautioned the people of the region not to venture into the forest region to graze their cattle, goats and sheep due to the movement of the leopard.
They ordered the people and farmers to remove traps and electric fencing if they had set up to protect their crops from wild animals and warned of stringent action as per the Act if anyone tried to harm the leopard on the loose.
