MLA Rajaiah harassing women sarpanchs sexually and mentally: Janakipuram Sarpanch
WARANGAL: BRS Janakipuram sarpanch Kursapalli Navya on Friday alleged that party Station Ghanpur MLA Thatikonda Rajaiah, a former deputy chief minister, was harassing her sexually and mentally and creating hurdles in taking up developmental works in her village.
Janakipuram is located in Dharmasagar mandal of Station Ghanpur constituency in Hanamkonda district.
Navya alleged that for two years, Rajaiah was calling her on the phone and speaking in filthy language. Other women sarpanchs were facing the same problem with Rajaiah, she alleged.
She said that the MLA was asking her to fulfill his wishes and that he would give whatever she wanted in return —gold, land or developmental work in her village. “I tried to explain to him that I treat him like a father figure, but he did not stop,” she said.
She said the MLA was discriminating against women sarpanchs and was not sanctioning bills for the developmental works. He also threatened them saying their career would come to an end if they did not listen to political leaders who were holding good positions.
Rajaiah denied her allegations and said that his rivals, unable to digest his popularity, were hatching conspiracies to malign his image. He said the allegations were being made against the backdrop of the approaching elections, and said he would complain to Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.
