Lucknow: In a bizarre incident, more than 186 snakes have been found in a house in Lakhimpur district in a house that is about 40 years old. According to reports, Jitendra Misra, a retired forest official, and his family live in the house in Bagia locality. On Sunday night, when the family members were sleeping, they were woken up by a hissing sound.
Jitendra Misra saw two pairs of snakes coiled in one corner of the room. He called other family members and some neighbours and managed to put the snakes into a box but within minutes, some more snakes appeared in the room.
The family, apparently frightened, spent the night at a neighbour’s home and on Monday, they called a local ‘tantric’ Ram Chandra who told the family that there was a basement under one wall of the house. The wall was broken down and when the local people dug further, the snakes started coming out.
“A total of 186 snakes came out and we put them in a box and left them in a nearby river. The ‘tantric’ told us not to harm the snakes”, said Jitendra Misra.
