District police to access summer health of its personnel
Hyderabad: After the Hyderabad police, now is the turn of the district police to undertake a health review of their personnel and suggest ways to improve their conditions. Superintendents of police will also assign tasks to personnel keeping in view the soaring temperatures.
In this regard, Mahbubnagar SP N. Narsimhulu issued a mandate for all police staff to work out and take part in parades in the morning. Narsimhulu said that since he took charge, he was giving more importance to staff health as it would improve public service consequently.
“We do health surveys twice a year. Those aged above 40 years are mostly posted to take care of station duties, while younger staff have to work outside, executing non-bailable warrants, court matters and law and order duties,” the SP said.
Cops in Nalgonda, Suryapet, Vikarabad, Medak and Sangareddy are also taking safeguards against the heat while discharging their duties. Categorised risk-wise, cops who are high-risk are posted to take care of station and record works.
Besides medical surveys, the Vikarabad police have provided financial assistance for home guards to get medical treatment. SP N. Koti Reddy said that most recently, the police had come to the aid of home guards Srinivas and Hanmanthu, who fell sick.
Across districts, SPs have asked SHOs of the traffic wing to post young staff at signals during the day and provide them with summer equipment.
