Love marriage: Cops will prevail over lovers' wish
Dharmapuri: A love couple linked to Karnataka, fearing trouble for their life, urged the Harur police in Dharmapuri district not to send them with that State's police, but in vain.
On Saturday, the Bangarupet police of Kolar district in Karnataka came to Sangilipatti village searching for a missing college student. The search was conducted based on the complaint given by the victim's mother.
According to the 35-year-old complainant Anitha, her 18-year-old daughter Anna Kretian went missing since April this year when the latter had gone out to meet her friend.
Investigations revealed that Anna Kretian, studying PUC second year at a local college in Karnataka, had eloped with her 35-year-old lover Stalin. However, they could not be traced even two months after the girl missing case was registered.
Meanwhile, the Bangarupet police found that Anna Kretian has married her lover Stalin in a Hindu temple at Neepathurai in Thiruvanamali district in Tamil Nadu and were staying at a house in Sangilivadi village, near Harur in Dharmapuri district.
The Sangilivadi villagers after coming to know about Karnataka police camping in Dharmapuri then handed over the lovers to the Harur police.
However, when asked to go with the Karnataka police, the lovers pleaded to the Harur police not to send them with the neighbouring state's police, fearing trouble. The lovers alleged that Karnataka police might even kill them if they do not accept to break their relationship.
Nonetheless, the Harur police handed over Anna Kretian and her lover Stalin to the Karnataka police after taking an undertaking that no harm will be done to them, sources added.
