Kishan asks BRS to mandate green spaces in new layouts
HYDERABAD: Union minister G. Kishan Reddy on Sunday urged the state government to make mandatory the development of parks and walking tracks while permitting new building layouts.
Speaking to reporters after meeting residents of the Secunderabad Assembly constituency, he said: “Hyderabad has become a global city and its greenery cover should be protected. Despite being a concrete jungle, greenery should be developed in the city for future generations.”
Kishan Reddy also visited railway establishments at Tarnaka, Lalapet and Mettuguda. Kishan Reddy said that residents also complained about approach roads. “We directed railway officials to sort out the problems,” he said.
“Consciousness about sanitation increased across the nation after Prime Minister Narendra Modi initiated the Swachh Bharat programme. It is the equal responsibility of the government and people to ensure sanitation in residential areas. Encroachments and debris on roads should be removed by GHMC officials. If needed, the government should bring stringent laws,” he said.
Kishan Reddy said that India has become the fifth-largest economy in the world. “It is unfortunate or fortunate, India is also become the world's highest populated country. Providing basic amenities like roads, drinking water, power and food for people is a tough task.”
Later, Kishan Reddy also addressed the Amberpet Assembly constituency BJP Morcha meeting on Sunday.
