Tight security for Amit Shah's Visakhapatnam meeting today

Visakhapatnam: The Visakhapatnam city police have made elaborate security arrangements for the visit of Union home minister Amit Shah, who will address a public meeting in Visakhapatnam on Sunday evening.

Commissioner of police Visakhapatnam C.M. Trivikram Varma had a review meeting with his officials on Saturday, and later in a release, it was said that in all, 950 police personnel would man the home minister’s security. Four DSP-rank officials, two APSP platoons, and four special parties would be part of the security team.

He said tight bandobast had been made at INS Dega, the naval airport where Shah will arrive and depart for Delhi after the meeting, the railway ground where he will address the meeting, the Sagarmala convention centre where he will hold a meeting with the local party leaders, and other places.

The traffic has been regulated in several places surrounding the meeting venue, the CP said.
