Comprehensive land resurvey in AP to create new history after 100 years

VIJAYAWADA: Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister, Adimulapu Suresh said here on Wednesday that, after 100 years, the YSRC government is creating a new history by conducting a comprehensive land resurvey at a cost of `140 crore.

This will lead to the handover of free land records to the people, he said while inaugurating a one-day workshop on YSR Jagananna Saswatha Bhu Hakku and Bhu Raksha programme.

The minister said, “The YSRC is providing a transparent governance, ensuring accountability and a corruption-free administration. Chief minister Jagan Reddy has introduced many reforms in the past three years. The resurvey of lands through the YSR Jagananna Saswatha Bhu Hakku and Bhu Raksha programme, undertaken after 100 years, was historic and very important, he said.

The minister advised the officials to spread awareness among the public about their layouts and land surveys. Encroachment of government lands would end with the resurveys, he said.

He said all the municipalities, corporations and nagar panchayats have been told to complete the resurvey within the stipulated time. Buildings, roads, ponds, canals, empty spaces etc will be specially identified in the survey.

The government has taken up the resurvey to ensure land owners have the right document with all the details of the property. Latest digital technology is being used for the resurvey process.

Special chief secretary Srilakshmi said the officials should complete the land resurvey in the next 6 months. Special teams will be formed from the revenue, CCLA and other departments for this purpose. Officials should conduct reviews on the progress of the resurvey every week, she said.

Municipal administration commissioner and director Praveen Kumar, additional CCLA cum secretary Babu, town and country planning director Vidyullatha, VMV commissioner Dinakar, commissioners of various municipal corporations and municipalities and other officials were present.
