Officer who oversaw Gujarat bypoll is addl. director of ED, Hyderabad
Hyderabad: The 2009 batch Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer Dinesh Paruchuri was on Wednesday appointed as additional director of Directorate of Enforcement (ED), Hyderabad.
Incidentally, the Election Commission had earlier appointed him as expenditure observer for the Bayad Assembly constituency in Gujarat’s Aravalli district.
Meanwhile, joint director Abhishek Goyal, 2005 batch IPS officer, was transferred to Mumbai Zone -II with additional charges of Panaji and Raipur zones.
Issuing the order, deputy director of ED Jitendra Kumar Gogia said that Dinesh Paruchuri was appointed on a deputation basis on July 31. He will hold office for four years.
"Notwithstanding the transfers, the officers shall continue to supervise/investigate the cases, if any pertaining to coal block allocation assigned to them as directed by the apex court. Any officer, whose name figures in any court monitoring committee, SIT, shall continue to look after that particular case, even after joining a new place," the order said.
Abhishek Goyal, Karnataka cadre IPS officer, who worked in Hyderabad ED as joint director has probed a number of sensitive cases, including the Tollywood drug case, Karvy financial fraud and Casino organiser Chikoti Praveen Kumar.
Paruchuri was also the additional commissioner of Income Tax, Hyderabad and was on deputation at APTransco apart from being the joint managing director of HRD, IT.
