Sircilla weaver comes up with unique sari to celebrate G-20 summit

Prime Minister lauded Prasad's effort in his Man ki Baat' programme

KARIMNAGAR: Sircilla-based handloom weaver Yeldi Hari Prasad showed his professional dexterity by weaving a two-meter-long sari bearing photos of all heads of state of G-20 countries with the map of India as the sari’s border commemorating the G-20 summit underway in New Delhi.

Modi is seen welcoming the dignitaries with a namaste beside the G-20 logo.

Hari Prasad said that he worked on power looms for about a week to design and inscribe all the photos and the Indian map.

“It is a proud moment for every Indian as the country is hosting the global event and winning accolades. I thought of creating something unique for posterity’s sake,” he said.

It should be noted that when Prasad had woven cloth with the G-20 summit logo and sent it as a gift to Modi, the Prime Minister lauded Prasad’s effort in his ‘Man ki Baat' programme.

Even IT minister and Sircilla legislator K.T. Rama Rao appreciated Prasad’s unique skills when he hit the headlines after weaving a shirt and a two-metre traditional lungi that could be wrapped in a matchbox.
