\'Unity Flame Run’ enters Telangana at Wanaparthy
Hyderabad: Colonel Krishan Singh Badhwar, the ultra runner, who is on a 3,000-km ‘Unity Flame Run’ to mark the platinum jubilee celebrations of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), entered Telangana on Sunday.
The run was flagged off in Kanyakumari on November 20 and will conclude in Delhi on January 18. Col D.S. Malik, Col A.N. Jha, manager Ravi Kumar and his team are accompanying Col. Badhwar and all are former NCC cadets and aged above 50 years. During this run, a large number of current and former NCC cadets and others accompany Col Badhwar for a limited distance locally.
Wanaparthy additional collector Ashish Sangwan, flagged off the rune in the district along with Col. Rao, commanding officer, 8 Telangana NCC Battalion, at the Government Polytechnic College for Women. Thirty cadets ran with the team for a kilometre.
Sangwan urged the cadets to work hard and enthusiastically participate in social work.
Col Badhwar spoke briefly, thanking everyone for a grand welcome. Earlier, Col Jha spoke about Col Badhwar’s achievements in the Army and as an ultra-runner.
