Corruption in every department, says JS leader Nadendla Manohar
Visakhapatnam: Chairman of the political affairs committee of the Jana Sena Nadendla Manohar has alleged that there is corruption in every department of the present government. Manhoar, who is on a North-Andhra tour, arrived in Srikakulam on Sunday and held a meeting with the local leaders and party workers.
Addressing them on the occasion, Manohar said that more and more corruption was coming out every day. Even their own ministers have admitted that they indulged in corruption, he alleged.
He pointed out that the minister for fisheries and animal husbandry was also involved in irregularities. Accounts revealed that three lakh cows were purchased, but the actual records showed that only 8,000 cows were purchased.
“Crores of rupees were withdrawn from banks, but it is not known where they were spent. The panchayat system was completely destroyed, and Rs 3,200 crore in panchayat funds were diverted for other purposes,” Manohar said. The CAG also stated that the village and ward secretariat system was against the constitution, he added.
He said standing crops were destroyed on thousands of acres in West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam, Chittoor, and Nellore, but no proper assessment of losses has been done so far. He demanded a compensation of Rs 20,00 each to farmers and lease farmers.
