Viveka sexually abused Sunil's mother: Bhaskar

Hyderabad: Y.S. Bhaskar Reddy, the father of YSRC Kadapa MP Avinash Reddy, on Tuesday complained to the Telangana High Court that the CBI was being selective in its investigation of the Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy murder case.

T. Niranjan Reddy, senior counsel, representing Bhaskar Reddy in a petition requesting the court to cancel the anticipatory bail granted to Shaik Dastagiri, an accused who has been allowed to turn approver, said there was conspiracy to implicate the petitioner and his MP-son.

The conspiracy was hatched by Telugu Desam leaders and the victim’s daughter, Dr N. Suneetha Reddy, the senior counsel said, and alleged that the CBI team was following the line.

Niranjan Reddy asked how the CBI could take cognisance of Dastagiri's statements in the Kadapa sessions court, where he sought pardon, and come to the conclusion that Avinash Reddy and Bhaskar Reddy were behind the plot to kill Vivekananda Reddy, without considering the statements of Gangi Reddy, prime accused, who had said that there is no role of the petitioner in the murder.

Niranjan Reddy submitted that there were more angles that the CBI must probe.

“Vivekananda Reddy had declared his second wife's son as his successor and this was not liked by the first wife, daughter Dr Suneetha Reddy and son-in-law. Even in the property dispute, there was a conflict between them and this could be one of the angles to be probed deeply by the agency,” Niranjan Reddy said.

“On the other hand, Vivekananda Reddy had differences related to money with Gangi Reddy. Apart from that, Sunil Yadav, one of the accused, had said that Vivekananda Reddy behaved indecently with his mother and sexually abused her. In retaliation, Sunil Yadav might have killed the deceased,” Niranjan Reddy argued.

He asked why Dr Suneetha Reddy did not oppose the Kadapa sessions court order granting anticipatory bail to Dastagiri and allowing him to turn approver. Further arguments were adjourned to Thursday.
